She was born and raised in the Philippines, post-Vietnam War, during the Marcos regime, pre-Mount Pinatubo eruption, as a U.S. Air Force military child. She graduated high school from former Wagner High School, Clark Air Force Base, Philippines in 1985. Her works have appeared in various literary journals and anthologies. She has two books of poetry, By Astrolabes & Constellations and The Art of Exporting . She is a U.S. Army veteran, holds an MFA in Creative Writing, and is a writer, artist, and podcaster. I appreciated  this particular work  by an artist whose works sometimes don’t work for me. But the work’s effectiveness made me consider as well how money (and lack thereof) affects artwork. Strobel some questions about her process: EILEEN (ET): Please share the background to these doodles or sketches. How did you come to start making them?  LENY (LS): I started these doodles in 2015 around the time that Zentangle was trending. I have a relative who was into it and she got me interested.
